Sorry if the above photo frightens you, but we think it captures the popularity of The Presets in Australia better than any review could. That, and the fact that they won Album of the Year, Best Dance Album and Best Group at this year’s ARIAs–essentially the Aussie version of the Grammys. Which is why the duo headlined Modular’s Nevereverland Festival over Klaxons and Cut Copy, two bands that are arguably bigger in the states. If Kimberly Moyes (the crinkled chap in our lead shot) and Julian Hamilton’s shows keep going in the Blade Runner Live direction we witnessed on Saturday, that just might change next year …
