Naomi Punk
“Firehose Face”

“I actually made up the name Naomi Punk a long time ago as a drag name for myself,” singer/guitarist Travis Coster explained in a recent Wondering Sound interview. “I feel like the themes I’ve been exploring in this band have been really motivated by my interest in exploring the interior of my soul. It’s about human beings, living through a new kind of abstract freedom.”

That freedom is reflected in the band’s new “Firehose Face” video, which features some light makeup work, abstract black and white imagery, and riffs that rattle and hum against Coster’s muffled cries and cue cards like “yell in your microphone” and “my life got broken.” Have a look in the player above and look out for the band on tour through mid-October…
