Demdike Stare Line Up Stateside Premiere of Live Häxan Score

Demdike Stare have confirmed the long overdue stateside run of their live Häxan score. First unveiled as part of the British Film Institute’s Hauntology Weekend in late 2013, the special performance is set against a silent film BFI described as a “1922 documentary-horror masterpiece [exploring] the effect of superstition on the collective medieval consciousness.”

Sounds like prime Demdike Stare material! The duo’s brief tour includes dates in Ann Arbor, Knoxville and New York. Also of note at the NYC stop is an opening Rrose set that sees the producer tackling James Tenney’s solo gong piece “Never Having Written a Note For Percussion.” A studio version can be streamed via Further Records below, right alongside a trailer for Demdike Stare’s church show, a first for longtime electronic/experimental party The Bunker
