1. Kimchi Pancakes
The discovery of this Korean classic has led me on a wild goose chase across the globe for the best pancake out there. The fermented, sour taste of the kimchi mixed with the sweet, soft texture of the pancake makes this dish an irresistible starter of any feast.
2. Bergen
This amazing Norwegian, west coast town can brag about having the most rainy days in Europe, but it is also stunningly beautiful and very cosy. Walk around cute white houses in steep hills and chances are pretty big that you bump into Röyksopp or Björn Torske.
3. Who Is William Onyeabor?
The reissuing of Onyeabor’s music by the excellent Luaka Bop label in NY is one of my absolute favorite musical experiences of 2013. Synthesizer Afro-funk from Nigeria—totally irresistible!
4. Meditation Podcasts
I recently found that there are loads of relaxation exercises as podcasts on iTunes… for free! Learn a simple breathing meditation while taking the train to work. Maybe you have trouble sleeping, need a self-confidence boost or worry about that presentation (read: DJ gig); help is near.
5. Studio Barnhus
My label that I have with Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist in Stockholm is at an all-time high. I’m so proud of the releases we have coming out in late 2013 and 2014 by artists like Baba Stilts, Lukas Nystrand, Simon Haydo and Henry Rodrick. High five!!!
