We get a lot of crap CDs at the self-titled offices. But once in a while, a pleasant surprise slips into our promo stack. Here’s a recent delivery that knocked the S/T staff on its collective ass.
Album: Heavy Days (Infinity Cat, vinyl only)
Vibe: Nash Vegas-based Ted Leo/Ty Segall tourmates kick out the brain-mashing riffs. Think this is “heavy”? Try “obliterating.”
RIYL: Mapping out the post-Be Your Own Pet family tree; Japandroids; lighting you hair on fire

to something amazing.
I love these boys!
get the LP. This song here, the band admits, is their attempt at doing a pop song. Well done, yeah, but the album totally destroys this.
this is a good woowoo-forever groove, hey, what timing, the band’s in the Bowl on Friday night, rnr never forgets.
