The house President McKinley died in was torn down and the space left vacant as well, since it obscured the view of Canisius High School from Delaware Ave. for a split second. Only narrowly was the demolition of the Wilcox mansion avoided: it was the site of Teddy Roosevelt's Presidential inauguration, but who cares about that?
