The Reason(s) We Can’t Stop Listening: As we write this, the sun is streaming through self-titled’s office windows, warming our hardwood floors like a space heater despite the fact that it’s absolutely freezing outside. This album has the same effect, sonically—glacial guitars brought up to a boiling point by effects pedals and the kind of fuzz tones Fennesz perfected in the early aughts. It’s mesmerizing stuff, to say the least. Too bad we’re still waiting for the duo’s “sooner than later” follow-up, which Belong promised way back in August.
