We get a lot of crap CDs at the self-titled offices. But once in a while, a pleasant surprise slips into our promo stack. Here’s a recent delivery that knocked the s/t staff on its collective ass.
The Artist/Album: Shining, Blackjazz (The End, 2010)
The Vibe: Holy hell, this band is bonkers. Like crazier than Mike Patton when he’s off his meds and seconds away from being placed in a double-bolted straight jacket. Only Norwegian and really fucking scary.
