DOWNLOAD THIS NOW: Peaking Lights, ‘Weird Up 2012 Mix’

If there’s one thing we learned from compiling the artist curated lists in our year-end issue, it’s what a serious crate digger Aaron Coyes is. As on-point as everyone else’s suggestions were, the Peaking Lights multi-instrumentalist went so obscure we spent several hours finding samples of all his picks for our enhanced iPad edition.

Have a listen and a look at what we’re talking about below, right alongside a mix Coyes just posted today…

DOWNLOAD THIS NOW: Bear In Heaven, “The Reflection of You (Lovelock Remix)”

Bear In Heaven

Here’s the thing about Bear In Heaven’s new album: unlike the pitched-down listening party that’s happening at their official site right now, I Love You, It’s Cool is a total head rush listen, flooding your senses with restless rhythms and gleaming, laser-like synth lines. Meanwhile, Steve Moore’s Lovelock rendition of “The Reflection of You” is a patient lounge pop number that makes us think of leisure suits and yachts named Shirley.

Grab it in MP3 form below, alongside a stream of the original version…

Watch/Download: A Live Set From Carl Craig, Francesco Tristano and Moritz Von Oswald

Wondering what to expect from this weekend’s special live collaboration between Carl Craig, Moritz Von Oswald and Francesco Tristano? Try a seamless blend of twitchy techno, jilted jazz and piano progressions that hint at neo-classical movements and house music, as heard in the trio’s set at Versus 2.0 last year…

DOWNLOAD THIS NOW: Evian Christ’s ‘Kings and Them’ Mixtape

Whether we’re talking about the Haxan Cloak, Vessel or the oOoOO EP that was just revealed yesterday, it seems like a week can’t go by without a new signing or release announcement from Tri Angle Records. We can’t complain, though; not with a growing roster that’s this consistent, right down to the Evian Christ mixtape that dropped today. A collection of high-quality antidotes to the YouTube rips that have been floating around, it arrives with the promise of a proper Tri Angle release later this year and a live appearance at the label’s London showcase this Saturday at Hackney Downs Studios, featuring Balam Acab, oOoOO, Holy Other, and DJ sets from the Haxan Cloak and the xx’s Romy Madley-Croft.

Stream/download all eight tracks—produced by a 22-year-old Brit named Joshua Leary, in case you’re curious—below…

DOWNLOAD THIS NOW: The 2 Bears, ‘Whatever the Weather’ Mix

While Joe Goddard will soon be busy pushing Hot Chip’s new album, we can’t stress just how crucial his 2 Bears side project is. A collaboration with his Greco-Roman DJ partner Raf Daddy (a.k.a. Raphael Rundell), it sounds like it was beamed in from a Bay Area dance floor—bursting at the grooves with sweat, steam and bad decisions. To get a better idea of the record’s house-heavy, techno-tinged roots, check out their “Whatever the Weather” mix below (featuring Armand Van Helden, Factory Floor, Henrik Schwarz, Gino Soccio and many more), alongside a radio edit of the pair’s “Work” single…
