As on-point as everyone else’s suggestions were, the Peaking Lights multi-instrumentalist went so obscure we spent several hours finding samples of all his picks for our enhanced iPad edition.

We can’t complain, though; not with a growing roster that’s this consistent, right down to the Evian Christ mixtape that dropped today. A collection of high-quality antidotes to the YouTube rips that have been floating around, it arrives with the promise of a proper Tri Angle release later this year and a live appearance at the label’s London showcase this Saturday at Hackney Downs Studios, featuring Balam Acab, oOoOO, Holy Other, and DJ sets from the Haxan Cloak and the xx’s Romy Madley-Croft.

While Joe Goddard will soon be busy pushing Hot Chip’s new album, we can’t stress just how crucial his 2 Bears side project is. A collaboration with his Greco-Roman DJ partner Raf Daddy (a.k.a. Raphael Rundell), it sounds like it was beamed in from a Bay Area dance floor—bursting at the grooves with sweat, steam and bad decisions.
