Olde English Spelling Bee and 1080p have revealed a high concept mixtape for New Hive, upholding the latter’s promise to “make the Web weird again” alongside exclusive material from James Ferraro, Torn Hawk, Delia Gonzalez, Bryce Hackford and more.

“Quite a few of the musical acts are artists that OESB had been wanting to work with for a number of years,” label founder Todd Ledford explained over email, “so this mixtape seemed like a great forum to get some of their tracks out there in a cool format. The Mechanick Preachers track, for instance, was originally planned as a 7″ for OESB back in 2010 and was made before the whole post FSV virtual-instrument craze.”

A separate press release also promised “some secret projects and cloaked identities,” rounded out by the visual curation of Ledford and Katie Raffa (Personal Injury Records) In case you’re wondering, this does in fact mean that OESB-the one-time home of Ducktails, Stellar OM Source and Forest Swords—is slowly getting back into the game with upcoming releases from Alice Cohen and Mirage.
