Sometimes the alliterations of my titles are inspired by subjects from art history. In this case, “Angels in Cages” was based on sculpted figures that I observed in Mexico City, where they were displayed by a well-known collector of antiques. I found the images to be quite beautiful, and at the same time, unsettling.
