PREMIERE: The Modern Deep Left Quartet, ‘Ditch Pig’ EP

So the origins of the following EP are a little confusing: The Modern Deep Left Quartet is actually another name for the producers/players in Cobblestone Jazz, who would have been releasing lots of other records under this alias if it weren’t for some tricky “contractual obligations.” Obligations they kinda got around by tracking a Cobblestone Jazz album three years ago called… The Modern Deep Left Quartet.

At any rate, the group’s new Ditch Pig EP is exactly what we’ve come to expect and love about the loose, decidedly live techno-jazz loops of Danuel Tate, Mathew Jonson, Tyger Dhula and Colin de la Plante (a.k.a. The Mole). Head into the weekend on a major-keyed note by having a listen down below…
