Japanese composer Yuji Takenouchi (see: such major video game scores and dynamic sound designs as Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and the cult series Souls) finally gets some credit for his Mr. YT alias on a new compilation from R&S and its Apollo imprint. Padded by ambient passages, soulful house samples, and live hardware loops, Brand New Day features three EPs from the late ’90s (Brand New Day, Southern Paradise, and Parfum) that have only grown stronger with age. Spring forward in style here….
