Techno heads, take note: Kevin Saunderson–one of the Belleville Three’s true pioneers–will be spinning records in Brooklyn this Sunday, July 13, as the “Sunday Best” weekly takes over the Yard from 3-9 p.m. Expect some Midwestern classics (Saunderson’s Inner City duo shifted more than 6 million worldwide albums over the course of two LPs and 12 Top 40 UK hits), as well as a glimpse at Saunderson’s next future-shocked direction. And who knows what that’ll be? After all, Saunderson commissioned an incredible collection of artists to remix his classic material this year, including Simian Mobile Disco, Loco Dice, John Tejada, Luciano, Jesse Rose, the Rapture, Carl Craig and Mathew Jonson. Everyone from minimal techno architects to electro-house auteurs, in other words. As for Saunderson himself, the producer/DJ is currently crafting remixes for two Next Big Things: The Presets and Hercules and Love Affair.
