PEEP SHOW: Watch Earth Play a New Song At Brooklyn Masonic Temple

About 15 minutes into Sunn O)))‘s set at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple last night, our art director decided he’d had enough. “Gonna head out,” he wrote in a text message. “I likes Earth best.”

Or as Aaron explained a little more clearly this afternoon, “Earth sounded like the honest, painful music of someone who’s had a really difficult and fucked-up life. I believed every note [Dylan Carlson] played on his guitar, which is more than I can say for anything Pelican or Sunn O))) did.”

If you’re among the many that have shared this sentiment in recent years, we’ve got a special treat for you: footage of a new, as-yet-untitled track. According to Carlson, the song will be properly tracked soon, and should be out early next year. From the sound of it, Earth’s third Southern Lord record is going to be as sun-baked and Jarmusch-ready as the last two.
