DOWNLOAD THIS NOW: Tim Hecker, ‘Hatred of Music I’

When it comes to the crowded arena of laptop artistes, Tim Hecker can basically do no wrong in our eyes. His latest LP (Ravedeath, 1972, out February 15 on Kranky) is no exception. In fact, it may be one of his finest ambient storm efforts yet, rounded out by the immaculate mastering of James Plotkin and subtle touches of Ben Frost. The thing was also written in the winter and recorded in an Icelandic church, which seems quite appropriate, doesn’t it?

Have a listen to one of Hecker’s new songs after the jump, and check out his commentary on all of those old albums here.
