Insane Clown Posse Are Secretly … Evangelical Christians?

While their fans have known about it for a while now (since the 2002 LP The Wraith: Shangri-La, to be exact), Insane Clown Posse revealed the roots of their evangelical agenda in the The Guardian over the weekend.

Speaking about the viral success of their “Miracles” video, Violent J had this to say about the horrorcore duo’s general disdain for science: “OK, an analogy: If you’re trying to fuck a girl, but her mom’s home, fuck her mom! You understand? You want to fuck the girl, but her mom’s home? Fuck the mom. See?

After the writer stares back at him blankly, J continues, “Now, you don’t really feel that way. You don’t really hate her mom. But for this moment when you’re trying to fuck this girl, fuck her! And that’s what we mean when we say fuck scientists. Sometimes they kill all the cool mysteries away. When I was a kid, they couldn’t tell you how pyramids were made:”

The group goes on to say how they are both prone to depression and feel the whole ICP mythos is completely misunderstood. It’s essential reading, if for no other reason than the fact that the Guardian‘s writer, Jon Ronson, does his best to hear them out.
