Our Review: The alias that started it all for Carl Craig’s iconic Planet E imprint gets the proper compilation treatment finally, from an extended previously unreleased mix of “Poi Et Pas” to the EP that’s worth the price of admission on its own: 1991’s 4 Jazz Funk Classics, a rarified slab of future-shocked funk that’s been known to fetch top dollar bids on eBay for good reason. Definitely a class-is-in-session disc.
