LONG PLAYER OF THE DAY: Brock Van Wey/Intrusion, ‘White Clouds Drift On and On’

The Artist/Album: Brock Van Wey/Intrusion, White Clouds Drift On and On (Echospace, 2009)

The Reason(s) We Can’t Stop Listening: The first part of this two-CD collection (Brock Van Wey’s originals) errs on the Enya side of things a few times, namely during the brief wailing banshee breaks of “I Knew Happiness Once” and “Forever a Stranger.” That’s why we prefer Intrusion’s “reshaped” alternate takes–because they’re subterranean techno at its most sublime.
