In a brilliant move by their shared label XL, Jamie Smith of the xx (a.k.a. Jamie xx) has been tapped to remix 13 tracks from Gil Scott-Heron‘s I’m New Here sessions. Kinda like Mad Professor’s classic rework of Massive Attack’s Protection LP, only on more of a dubstep tip than a straight-up dub one.
Due out February 21, We’re New Here can be pre-ordered at the project’s micro site now; either as a high-quality MP3 rip, CD pressing, or vinyl box set. All of which include an immediate download version of the following track…
