Aidan Moffat Reveals New L. Pierre Record, ‘The Island Come True’

Aidan Moffat

One of the best kept secrets about Aidan Moffat is that he’s made amazing moody electronic music for the past decade. In fact, we’d take his lush L. Pierre productions over the pint-downing sad bastard ballads of Arab Strap any day. So it’s with great pleasure that we share a one-weekend-only stream of The Island Come True, a new album that’s due out on January 14th through Melodic. Available for pre-order here–including a deluxe package that includes a bonus 12” and literal mixtape–Moffat describes the record as follows: “L. Pierre died in 2007. This record was made by his ghost as channelled through me over the course of last year. Although he did not write the album, he is very much the author.”

What a perfect way to end the week. Have a listen won’t you? Why, we’ll even include Spotify-powered streams of the old records as well…
