High on Fire have been forced to drop out of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival due to frontman Matt Pike’s decision to receive treatment at an alcohol rehab facility.

“High on Fire would like to thank everyone involved with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival for the opportunity to be a part of this year’s tour,” the band said in a press statement. “We regretfully will have to bow out as our friend and bandmate begins his recovery, but very much appreciate having been asked to be a part of this summer’s festival run.”

High on Fire’s latest album, De Vermis Mysteriis, is the trio’s highest charting release to date. Read why we love it here. Southern Lord also reissued Dopesmoker–the penultimate LP of Pike’s other band, Sleep–last month.
