The Artist/Album: Jesu, Heart Ache & Dethroned (Hydra Head, 2010)
A Short Review: Yesterday and today collide as Justin Broadrick props his out-of-print debut up alongside a freshly-cut EP that was started way back in 2004. While Heart Ache features two side-swallowing epics, and Dethroned focuses its energies on concentrated bursts of cloud-scraping, pedal-pushing bliss, the entire package amounts to one hell of a perfect intro to how Broadrick shook the ever-present shadow of Godflesh with his head held high.
