Pye Corner Audio Readies Two More Volumes of ‘Black Mill Tapes’ For Type

After taking a brief detour into “continental drift recordings and ambient sleep aids” with The House in the Woods, Martin Jenkins has returned to his main Pye Corner Audio project for the final two volumes of his Black Mill Tapes series. While the series’ third entry has been available on Bandcamp for a couple years, its long-awaited vinyl pressing won’t arrive until later this month, when Type spreads it and a fourth volume across two LPs like it did with the first two in 2012.

According to a press release, the records show “a notable shift into beat-laced darkness,” one that’ll be emphasized when the entire Black Mill Tapes run gets repressed as a triple CD set next month. Sample it all—including a couple new cuts Jenkins leaked today—down below…
