VIDEO PREMIERE: Low Culture, “Screens”

Low Culture

Low Culture

Like nearly everyone else on Dirtnap Records–including their members’ last bands, Shang-A-Lang and the Marked Men–Low Culture play fast and loose garage-punk that’s slightly in focus, leaving listeners to play catch up with the hooks that blaze right by their heads.

Speaking of having your mind blown, the following video premiere–the title track from Low Culture’s debut LP, Screens–is as meta as music gets. Here’s how singer Chris Mason sees it: “The song is about how we’ve given our lives over to computers, smartphones, and televisions. We live vicariously through the people on our screens, and we communicate through them. This was recorded on an iPhone and you will likely watch it on your computer. Irony?”

Indeed. Watch/download an iPhone-derailed zombie apocalypse below…
