Prince Paul Makes Us a Mix

In honor of his new Brookzill! project and decades of boundless hip-hop beats for everyone from De La Soul to Handsome Boy Modeling School, we asked Prince Paul to cut an exclusive mix for our Needle Exchange series. The left-field legend did not disappoint; the following set is 30 airtight minutes, dropping a handful of Paul’s own tracks against a seamless blend of everything from Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five to Drake.

“This is a mix that shows a good mixture of contemporary influences,” he explained over e-mail. “I think a good mix should be able to go go from song to song without losing the vibe. This, on the other hand, goes from old to new and different genres—kinda like a ‘throwback to the future’. Please listen and enjoy”….
