P4K FOCUS (DAY TWO): Fucked Up Whip Hardcore Fans Into a Frenzy Without Spilling an Ounce of Blood

By Lizz Kannenberg

The Artist: Stomach-turning hardcore punk from:Canada.

Their Latest Release: The Chemistry of Common Life (Matador, 2008)

The Set in a Few Sentences: Now here’s something you don’t see in the photo pit every day: Ziplocked equipment and pockets of ponchos, worn to ward off the bodily fluids of Fucked Up frontman Pink Eye. Luckily for them (and perhaps unluckily for the crowd, who were expecting complete chaos),the Canadian group kept their juices to themselves while still managing to get everyone’s adrenaline flowing.

And a Letter Grade: B+
