“Enaitz”

With so many underground labels clogging the vinyl pipeline these days, it’s nice to see one—Svreca’s Semantica imprint—go the downright retro CD-R route. (With a digital edition also available if you don’t even have a compact disc player anymore.) In the case of J.C.’s looming Mugako LP, the Spanish label has slotted the producer’s sleepless techno songs into its Exhibition Design series. Here’s what the Tresor resident had to say about today’s #selftitledpremiere, which hits shops on August 26th:

“Enaitz” is actually one of my favorite tracks of the album. I dedicated the song to the just born child of my two best friends; it has the same name. I wanted to recreate the tension and the heat that a pregnancy has through a noisy synth that grows from the start, has its climax in the middle, and finally lets go at the end.
