As anyone who follows his free associative Twitter feed will tell you, Louis Johnstone’s life is his art project. So if you want to know where his Wanda Group work is coming from, simply listening to his scraggly compositions isn’t going to cut it. Better to pick at their bones, bit by bit, whether you’re streaming Johnstone’s new Ornate Circular LP (out tomorrow through NNA Tapes) alongside a lucid Juno Plus commentary, decoding a mangled “DJ mix”, or scanning a stack of candid photos like we did in the exclusive feature (introduced by Wanda Group himself) below…

WE LIVE IN THIS HOUSE AND THE WALLS MOVE FROM TIME TO TIME

ONE DAY THE DINING ROOM MIGHT TURN INTO THE BATHROOM THEN A MINUTE MIGHT GO PAST AND THE KITCHEN BECOMES THE LIVING ROOM

IT ALSO MANGES TO CHANGE COLOUR

THIS ROOM I AM IN NOW IS PINK AND BURNING WHITE LIGHTS ARE COMING THROUGH THE WINDOW

NOW IT IS SOAKED IN WATER

SO A SORT OF BLUE COLOUR

BURNING WHITE LIGHTS ARE STILL THERE

SHIT, THE ROOM JUST TURNED INTO THE SECOND BEDROOM THAT USED TO BE THE FIRST BEDROOM UP THE STAIRS TO THE LEFT

THESE PHOTOS ARE ME TRYING TO CAPTURE OUR HOUSE AS IT IS
