The Artist/Album: Emeralds, Just to Feel Anything (Editions Mego, November 6th)
Why It’s Worth the Wait: Now that they live in separate cities and are busy balancing their precious time with side projects–and in the case of John Elliott, a killer full-time label–new Emeralds releases aren’t the regular CD-R-raining occurrence they once were. They’re more of an event for anyone who’s into transcendent electronic music. And like their last–2010’s Does It Look Like I’m Here?–this one doesn’t shifts their sound in enough ways to keep things sounding familiar and refreshing at the same time.
